Plus, I can't be the only person who has a hard time getting a durable finish using regular
spray paint on
furniture... even with a top coat I usually end up chipping the
paint.
I once did a play where we
spray painted all of the
furniture and props in that same color blue
spray paint.
This is probably something I could have done myself but I didn't have a ton of experience at
painting furniture and my husband and I both wanted it to be something that would look amazing and last forever so we had it professionally
sprayed, which I highly recommend by the way.
The wood stain and
spray paint (non lead - based, low VOC, etc.) were the same type of finishes applied in factories on any other
furniture.
I can not believe you
spray painted the dining room
furniture!
The first piece of
furniture that I ever
sprayed painted was the light gray chest that's in the dining room.

If you will not be using
furniture specific
paint, (milk
paint, chalk
paint) and your piece is really shiny, I would give it a scuff sanding with 220 grit sandpaper to knock off some of the shine before
spraying /
painting.
Wow, I'd be TERRIFIED to go after a set of dining room
furniture with
spray paint, but you have made that look amazing!
Since
painting furniture is my decorating love, I thought I would share a before and after with you of my
spray project.
It's also really handy if you live in an apartment building and don't have access to going outside to
spray paint items /

spray paint from another project (I would share but it was kind of a fail) I love using

spray finish over chalk
paint or stained wood
furniture?
The «normal» ways of prepping
furniture for new
paint are sanding with fine sandpaper, using a deglosser such as Klean - Strip Liquid Sander Deglosser, or priming with a
paint primer such as Krylon All - Purpose White Primer

As I was using Rust Oleum
spray paint on top of the Rust Oleum
furniture paint and did not know how these
paints would react, I tested it first on a piece of wood.

A professionally
sprayed - on cream - colour
paint can make the
furniture look clean and new.
I would
paint more
furniture and stuff (even bought a
spray painter) but finding somewhere in my little yard to do that without the overspray on everything is a challenge.
And isn't it a shame you can't just
spray paint fabric
furniture?
