For anyone who is new to my blog, my family lives in a 1400
sq ft ranch that we are updating and adding on to.
Wow these pictures of little houses look huge compared to our 1020
sq ft ranch; we are finishing half the basement and thrilled to have more living space for our family of 7 going on 8.

Our current house is a
ranch with walkout lower level and is 3380
sq ft total, not counting the garage but including the unfinished storage room.
This
ranch home has over 2000
sq ft of finished living space, 3 bedrooms, a den, 1.5 baths a partially finished basement and lots of storage!
2 - 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath
ranch style home sporting 1296
sq ft with amenities that include; new furnace, 1 - stall attached garage, large backyard, rear screen porch, deck and vinyl siding.
My understanding is that usually these houses are smaller, like one I'm doing now, an 1100
sq ft 3 bed
ranch, where the only non-bedroom or kitchen room is the living room, which is probably 10» by 15» in size, not very big if you want to have the whole family over for instance.

This coming Friday we will close on our newly - purchased «beach cottage» in Ocean Pines MD, which really consists of a 940
sq ft, 3 bedroom, 2 bath small
ranch - style home with a back deck and shed.
