wood - paneled facade stands out.
I knew the old dry
wood would soak up a lot of
stain, so I used a can that I had determined was too dark for my countdown
blocks and did plan to use for any other projects.
It can't hurt and will only help
block wood tannins and
stains.

If it is
wood, you would need to use a
stain blocking primer first, then paint.
Use
stain blocking primer if the panels are real unfinished or
stained wood (Kilz is a good primer for this).
For me it is easier to use 2 light coats of
stain blocking primer (if the
wood is
stained) and then a coat of paint.
You may use a white pigmented
stain -
blocking primer if you need to seal knots, cover grain, paint light or white color on dark
wood, or if you're painting a
wood that is known to bleed, such as pine or mahogany.
