What to do with your
left over
stale bread?

leave it out to get
stale so I can eat the entire loaf as french

I do it most of the time without
bread but sometimes I use
stale matzos or sourdough if its been
left out.
It means «re - boiled» because it is made first and eaten as is the first day, then reheated with
stale bread the second, and on the third if there is any
left, it is no longer very liquid and it is heaped on top of bruschetta.
1 tablespoon olive oil relatively
stale bread, cut into small cubes 1 sprig of thyme,
leaves removed, stems discarded parmesan cheese, finely grated, for sprinkling (fresh is best, but if you must use the green can, so be it)
can whole peeled tomatoes 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1 pinch red pepper flakes 1 pinch sugar 1 bay
leaf 1/2 loaf country
bread, slightly
stale, cut into 1 / 2 - slices (about 8 oz.)
The
bread can be fresh or
stale and crusts can be
left on or removed.
For this delicious dinner — which serves two — use the leftover
bread rounds from RECIPE # 2 to make the potato chip breadcrumbs (the drier they are the easier they are to crumble so
leave out at room temperature for a bit to
stale before crumbling).
To help
stale your
bread, cut it into cubes and
leave it out overnight.
That is, till the roles become reversed, and the affairs become
stale like
left out
bread, and the marriage regains that passion like the cover of a romance novel.
