The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has recently taken a stance against these fats by ordering food processors to stop using them because they're responsible for most artificial trans fat in processed food.
In the 1980s, CSPI actually spearheaded a highly successful campaign against the use of healthy saturated fats, touting trans fats as a healthier alternative, so take their official stanceagainst coconut oil with a (big) grain of salt.
