Star Alliance fans out there, United Airlines is the only
alliance member that flies nonstop from the United States to Paris.
JetBlue has several airline partners, but because they are not part of a traditional
alliance like OneWorld or
Star Alliance, reciprocal earning and redemption are not available
for all of them.
Malaysia and Thai,
for example, don't fly to the U.S. at all, but since both of them are members of an
alliance (Malaysia is a oneworld member while Thai belongs to
Star), you can use these airlines to fly on American or United respectively.
For example, American is in the oneworld
alliance but it also partners with Etihad and United is in the
Star Alliance but it also partners with Aer Lingus.
By partner awards, I mean flights on other
Star Alliance airlines that you can use your United mile
for since they're in the same
alliance.
Now, there is a new option available
for short haul flights (less than 5000 miles) in
Star alliance network.

Star Alliance, which is the biggest
