Labor Day is the
official start of the awards season with the advent of annual film festivals in Venice, Telluride and Toronto (not that we will forget earlier films like «Get Out»).
The fest has been expanding ever since — in size (the Bell Lightbox, its impressive official headquarters on King Street, is celebrating its fifth birthday), in scope of offerings and in impact, both as the
semi-official start of the awards season but also as a boost to the economic climate of the film industry worldwide.
There really only has been one choice from the
very start of the awards season and that's Oldman for his amazing turn as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour.
