volume is
starting to go up.
So rather than stressing over
volume,
start focusing on consistent and effective strength
training.
This makes it more difficult for the novice to
start adding in excessive amounts of new lifts to which they will not be able to adapt and progress on quickly as it forces them to keep the
volume per body part in moderation in order to get out of the gym in a timely manner due to having to
train everything in every session.

start with the benefits of low

volume training.
What we can do is be general: if you're an endurance runner, for example, I can tell you that your
training will probably
start to become unhealthy when your high - intensity
training exceeds around 25 % of your total
volume.
Even with our Olympians, every season we build up the plyometric
training carefully,
starting out with low - intensity exercises at the
start of the season and progress over time to higher intensity exercises and we monitor
volume and intensity carefully.
However, there's been studies, and examples, that show that the diminishing returns of high intensity exercise
start at a 20 % of
training volume, rather than the 50 % or 60 % that we'd like.
Starting with a low
training volume and increasing if you can handle it will benefit you a lot more than overreaching at first.
I found that when I
started moving back toward full body
training, I was able to balance the higher frequency that I wanted with an adequate amount of
