Static stretching is the type of stretching where you take a muscle to its outer range, until you can feel a gentle stretch in the muscle belly, and
hold it
at that point.
As a general rule of thumb you can move to the next progression when you can perform a minimum of 5 perfect repetitions
at that level, or 10 seconds per
hold, for the
static holds.
Most people have trouble executing Chin Ups, so the first step of the progression would be to start
at the top of the bar in a
static hold with a supinated grip.
