the stew so I don't recommend it) 2 (14 oz) cans good quality beef broth, preferably low fat / low salt 1/2 of a 6 oz can of tomato paste, about 2 rounded T 2 bay leaves
Be careful not to stir
the stew so that the delicate squash cubes maintain their shape.
My old roommate would make lentil

stew the meat instead of smoke - grilling it as the Jamaicans do.

stew is all made in one pot,
so you sautee the puree, vinegar, garlic and spices in the pot, let it heat, and then add the coconut milk, tomatoes, aubergine and sweet potato into the same pot.

There are
so many dishes that can be made with just a can of Black turtle beans, being desserts to
stews, having a couple of these in your cupboard, can be a lifesaver.
i used crushed tomatoes and they were more like a puree —
so my
stew was (of course) uglier than deb's.
Sounds great, but I wanted to use ground beef instead of
stew,
so I tweaked it a bit and came up with what is definitely a winner for our family!
I had some zucchini and yellow squash around the house that I wanted to use up
so I decided to
stew them with chicken.
This is kind of a cheats
stew really as it doesn't take very long and you do it on the hob,
so perfect for when you are in a rush or want something simple for your mid-week dinner.
It's an extraordinary dish and made even more
so by the bulgur, which is cooked right in the
stewing liquid.
To my crock - pot method I add 1 pkg of beef gravy mix to give it even more beefy flavour, I like my
stew nick and thick like gravy and not watery
so if there are leftovers the next day I make meat pies with it.
The only thing I would change next time is that I would use 3 cups of beef stock instead of 4
so it would be more like
stew instead of soup.
This
stew is
so tasty, and I was surprised how much of a sweetness the root vegetables gave it.
It goes
so well with
stews or chilis - sort of.
I haven't cooked with lamb in ages, but this
stew looks
so tasty I might need to try it for dinner soon.
