I don't know if we'll
stick with just the homemade
decorations on the
tree — I think we may add a handful of ornaments we've collected over the years — but I will say that despite the extra work involved, I really enjoy the organic - feel and personality that our
tree has this year.
On a classic
tree, pair copper and metallic ornaments in flat matte or glossy finishes with natural
decorations, like pinecones and cinnamon
sticks, for a warm, neutral look.
I've not bothered with
sticking ribbons on them because I think they'll be more versatile this way, I can use them on the Christmas
tree, in flower arrangements, as stand alone
decorations around the house etc...
My children decorated our
tree, and it looks like we just threw the whole box of
decorations at it to see which ones would
stick... but they did try really hard!
