If you got your puppy from a breeder who did not
dock her
tail and it is a breed on which that is usually done, it
still can be.
I
still prefer to have the Vet
dock the
tails and remove dewclaws while checking them over.
The Jack Russell Terrier is
still built as a dog that is intended for hunting and the tradition of
docking the
tail so it may serve as a handle to hold while pulling a ratting dog from a hole is
still intact today (although rarely done for practicality it is mostly done for the look of it.)

tail docking in the countries where it
still exists today!!
