By now, if you've been reading this blog, you realize that I have thrown out all of
the store made salad dressings that used to line my refrigerator door.

Well, I often find that I do not want to eat
salad when it's
made with
store - bought
dressing.
No, these potatoes don't
make themselves, and they do take a bit of pre-planning (I baked the potatoes before mixing with other ingredients (which means I had to remember that everyone's going to want to eat before they want to eat) and, since I wanted these to be weight - loss - friendly, I used this Creamy Italian
Dressing (which takes about 5 minutes longer than opening a bottle of
store - bought (but really didn't take any extra time because I had some on hand in my frig (which, thankfully, is the norm — we almost always have some in our frig because we eat it on nearly everything (

Oookay... so those freakishly perfect grocery
store grape tomatoes I just purchased are now going into the oven instead of on top of the
salads that I was planning to
make to go with the * double * batch of your buttermilk
dressing that I just
made!
This is an easy to
make and tasty
salad that can be quickly doubled for larger celebrations, and will also stay fresh when
stored in the refrigerator without
dressing for a
salad you can eat all week.
You can
make or prep all of your noodle
salad components in advance, but
store the
dressing separately from the
salad ingredients, as the noodles and veg tend to get soggy as they sit in the sauce.
I've mentioned on here before that I've been experimenting
making my own

store - bought versions are full of artificial -LSB-...]
I use my stick blender / mini processor to

salad dressings... so fast and can
store in the refrigerator right in the mini processor.

store - bought mayos I've found have highly refined vegetable oil in them) and then add other ingredients to
make creamy
dressings and dips!

salad dressing to control the amount of sweet and salty ingredients are being added, and avoid the harsh preservatives and artificial colors that come in many
store bought options.

We know that olive oil is healthier, but when it comes to
store - bought
dressings... Even
salad dressings that claim to be «
made with olive oil» on the FRONT label are deceptive, because if you read the ingredients on the BACK label, they are almost ALWAYS
made of mostly refined soybean oil or canola oil as the main oil, with only a very small amount of actual olive oil as a secondary oil.
If you can't find
store - bought
salad dressings and mayonnaise that contain healthy oils, you may need to learn to
make your own.
Olive oil seems to work better with homemade apple cider vinegar (or
store bought) for
making salad dressing, however.
Summary: I always want you to
make your own
salad dressing because most grocery
store and restaurant options are not doing your gut or your waistline any good!
