of clunker
stories, made lots
of mistakes, and tried bad ideas, especially in the early
days, so I don't blame folks
for snickering.
So it was no surprise when, eight
days into our experiment, one
of our editors, Graham F. Scott, proposed a
story idea at a staff meeting: exploring the case
