taken, nearly a year
after the quake on Dec. 30, 2010.
Less ubiquitous, however, were images of the secondary setback suffered by New Orleans homeowners: an onslaught of aggressive mold left behind by the receding waters, an example of which can be seen in this
photo taken less than a month
after the storm hit, showing the scarred walls of Danielle Boyce Batten's home in Lakeview, where the 17th
Street Canal levee was breached.
After leaving Rania's store we crossed the
street and
took some
photos in front of the Luis Vuitton store (that wasn't participating in FNO) just for fun!
Shortly
after these
photos were
taken, I was on my merry way to the West 4th
Street subway stop in the West Village to catch a train to work.
After taking portraits at their wedding venue, Dumbarton House, Alison and Chris
took photos around Georgetown University's campus and along the
streets of Georgetown.

Cities are much easier to do in the cold, as you can always find the next cafe or gallery to warm up... My best memory ever is of Venice on a sunny cold day just
after carnival had ended: we shared the town mostly with locals, and there were countless opportunities to
take gorgeous
photos of empty
streets, bridges, and squares...
