Keep in mind that 20 - 50 kcal from extra fibre would have no effect on your progress anyway It's not worth being
stressed out
about meeting your
calorie targets precisely every single day.
Each one will create
about a 100
calorie deficit, but the latter will cause much more
stress on the body, especially in a hypo - caloric environment.
This can be SO hard to stop (I wrote
about how to stop it without
stressing here), and it perpetuates the idea that we need to burn off every
calorie we eat.
During this period of my life, I couldn't imagine a world where I wasn't constantly counting
calories (stop without
stressing about it using these steps).
They fast for 16 hours, eat anything they want for 8 hours and they stay lean without counting
calories, carbs or
stressing about following a formal «diet.»
To facilitate that response the body needs excess
calories (
about 500-1000 extra
calories per day), excess protein (
about 1g per lb of bodyweight), lots of water and and lots of recovery in the form of sleep and a
stress free environment.
Nobody wants to
stress about their diet at the bar, but you also don't want to slurp down hundreds of sugary
calories with your good - time drinks.
I kept reading
about incorporating more carbs but I was afraid to do so at the cost of gaining more body fat (ironically
stressing over eating less carbs /
calories was probably making my body hold on to what I was eating).
Or if you are having pasta, cut out half of the pasta and fill up by adding EXTRA veggies into your pasta for a more filling meal and way less
calories to
stress about later.
* don't try and lose too fast (i.e., don't literally run your ass off — skip most cardio, especially steady state medium intensity — and don't cut
calories more than 15 - 20 % of your daily expenditure) * weight train to maintain muscle, but only 1 - 2x / week depending on intensity * consider having a one - day - per - week
calorie spike post-lifting to encourage muscle growth / anabolism * expect stalls and plateaus but
stressing about them will probably hurt your cause.
You probably already know that laughter is a good way to reduce
stress (and we've talked
about the weight loss benefits of lower
stress), but did you also know that British researchers have found that 1 hour of intense laughter burnt up to 120
calories — that's a pretty good workout!
Stop
stressing about inaccurate
calorie counts from a food label and an app that tells you you should eat 1300
calories a day.

about eating
calories to lose our
stress in food.
When you're hungry, you can go over your daily
calories via a whey or casein protein shake and not
stress about fat gain.

calories that could be used in a variety of ways, to
stress the need for nutrient density?
