The religious symbol translates a human situation into cosmological terms and vice versa; more precisely, it reveals the continuity between
the structures of human existence and cosmic structures.

God is the
structure of reality and the power
of being which brings about these transformations
of human existence, which can be described in personal terms as response to love and forgiveness and in ontological terms as the reunion
of the separated.

Our older brain
structures that evolved to serve us well in the era
of early
human existence are essentially designed for fight or flight functions, which served us very well for thousands
of years, and still do for some aspects
of modern day life.
Ultimately, Lee Bul presents the
human impulse to promote visionary and idealistic notions within the
structures that surround us daily — our adornments, buildings, and institutions — as an attempt to fulfill the illusive promise
of a truly egalitarian and harmonious
