We, and our
students, have written not only
about God but also
about the problem of evil, Christ, the church, Christian education, pastoral counseling, preaching, the nature of human beings, history, liberation and salvation, spirituality, religious diversity, interfaith dialogue,
science and religion, and other standard theological topics.
When political
science students were challenged
about being Republicans, they were not thereby disenfranchised from voting; when economics
students were challenged on the merits of capitalism, they were not thereby excluded from purchasing notebooks, But when
students were told that everything they had learned
about their religion before entering this class was wrong, did we know — or care — if their capacity to function religiously in a mature fashion was diminished?
When it starts getting into
science however and they choose not to teach facts

student by avoiding undue imposition of the lecturer's beliefs; (c) presuppositions inevitably enter the classroom presentation of many subjects, so that a viewpoint frankly and explicitly recognized may be less dangerous than one which is hidden and assumed not to exist.
