student fad has turned into a murky
legal issue that has district officials grappling
with how to
deal with students who are smoking bird seed to get high.
In
dealing with law
students and articling
students over the years I have found that
issues like the merits of electronic and paper sources or the differences between primary and secondary sources and the roles those sources play in
legal scholarship are often not understood.
My
students (both in law school and in grade school)
deal with similarly comical examples but they actually manage to flag the
legal issues that this judge missed.
