of «Django Unchained» should know exactly what they're getting before they walk in the theater, but for those who are uninitiated to the director's
style or the genre
of the
film,
please proceed with extreme caution.
The
film was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Joel Schumacher, and reflects the worst
of their shallow
styles: wildly overproduced, inadequately motivated every step
of the way and demographically targeted to
please every one (and no one).
Lynn Shelton's most accessible and crowd -
pleasing film comes at the expense
of believability and few moments that contain her unique
style.
As a result, the
film is looser and less intense than Yates» previous
films, but it will most likely
please Rowling fans, who are still likely to complain about a great many things that may have been left out from the text, a bit more now that the balance
of character touches and plot are a bit more representative
of the
style of the book.
These
films, while not masterpieces, do have moments
of style that will
please genre fans.
Neeson revitalized his career doing that movie and although the
film had its flaws, it knew exactly what it was and
pleased the audience by giving them what they expected with a lot
of verve and
style.
This anthology
of wonderfully
filmed episodes can be seen in whatever order
pleases you, and the subject,
style and genre vary broadly, though the episodes share a sumptuous production sensibility and terrific casting.
