The cinematic
opening and the CG story
cutscene that starts off the game are truly gorgeous, and I wish that the
style shown in them had been implemented throughout the game's other
cutscenes, but being able to see the character I created take part in later story - focused
cutscenes was a welcome trade - off, especially since they were still smoothly animated and well done.
Kojima actually was first interested in the
open - world
style gameplay because he could focus more on telling the story through the game rather than
cutscenes.
Aside from the liberally placed
cutscenes, and the forced (but nonetheless enjoyable) story missions, the game allows a degree of
open world freedom not typically seen in a Japanese
style RPG.
The only other location where the impressive graphical
cutscene style is seen in DLC Pack 4 is in the
opening where Goku Black meets Trunks in the future.
