I'm new to this way of eating, so would it be possible to
substitute psyllium husk powder, and if so what quantity would I need?

Unfortunately there is no
substitute for the
psyllium husk powder — they work to stick the loaf together and I'm so sorry but they're just essential for the recipe, I tried it without them and it was just too crumbly!

substitute for the egg, but do you know if anyone has had any luck using aquafaba?
My favorite
substitute for xanthan gum is
psyllium husk powder (use 1/2 tsp per cup of flour), especially in breads and pizza crusts where its added chewiness is a benefit.

If you don't have access to quality protein
powder, which is used in this recipe, you can
substitute it with 3 tablespoons of almond flour + 1 tablespoon of
psyllium husk powder OR just use 1/4 cup almond flour instead of the protein
powder.
If you prefer a lighter texture, use half of the egg yolks (or less) and
substitute some of the flax with
psyllium husk powder (~ 1 cup of flax with 1/4 cup of
psyllium) and use hot water instead of warm to make sure it raises well.
