The 3 × 6
subway tile goes all the way up the wall, creating a wow factor and allowing for a clean and consistent look.

We weren't
going to some
subway -
tiled spot in Williamsburg for a 14 - course vegetable tasting.

go with the herringbone pattern, which is a classic pattern for wood floors (and a million other things), but I hadn't really seen it translated to
subway tile (until I googled it that is, and found a bazillion examples... sigh;)(it's ok I still love it)-RRB-.

I think our one wall that sports two freestanding shelves will remain, and if we extend the
subway tile to that area (we'll see as we
go along), your coffee station with shelving above raises the question: did you — or your builders — drill holes through the
tile after
tile was up?
We're
going to line the shower walls in white

My original plan was to
go with the very classic and currently trendy
subway tile.
My husband was not keen on the
subway tile and thought he could convince me to

Here's a tip I discovered — if you are
going to cut
subway tiles, cut them with the wrong side facing up.
I kind of wished they were larger, like a classic
subway tile (most commonly 3 ″ x 6 ″) but it still has the
subway tile proportions so I think it still gave my kitchen the look and feel I was
going for.

I think I'm
going to have a half wall wainscot of either painted wood panel or white
subway tile — and then on the upper half of the walls I'm planning on using a patterned wallpaper with a lot of blue in it — not only to coordinate with the bedroom, but also because these prints have a nice coastal, nautical vibe to them - perfect for a beach house.
To fit it into their budget, Sarah and Ren interspersed it randomly — placing one here and one there as they
