Although they did not find any dark GRBs that originated in the early universe (
such as the subsequently discovered GRB 090423), the astronomers were able to estimate that ancient GRBs probably account for only around 0.2 to 0.7
per cent of all gamma - ray
bursts detected since their initial discovery.
