Schools should also provide parents with the data from all
assessments — including formative, interim, and
summative assessments — along with individualized resources to help their
children improve.
Under No
Child Left Behind, states had to use specific annual standardized
summative exams with rigid requirements to demonstrate progress based on single
assessment measures.
A few of these are the

summative assessments; the community collaborations team, which facilitates events that include families and the community; and the integrated instructional strategies team, which uses the whole
child approach to provide professional development training based on staff needs.
