When it comes to winter I know a lot of us sometimes wonder how we can utilize pieces from
our summer closet into the winter, at least I know I do.
Not exact matches
It will be 100 degrees well
into September / October over here, so
summer clothes aren't leaving our
closets anytime soon.
If sneakers are your shoe of choice in spring and
summer, but then disappear
into the back of your
closet when boot season rolls around, here's some happy news: The latest styles were designed with chilly temps in mind.
With several popular
summer trends that will carry you
into autumn, the pieces you need may already be hiding in your
closet.
When I moved
into a new apartment
summer 2016 — the apartment I lived in before the one I live in now, I was demoted to a «regular»
closet that was probably a fourth of the size of my previous
closet.
To make matters worse, I just moved
into our new house this
summer and my clothes are EVERYWHERE; downstairs
closets, upstairs
closets, the attic, my car and yes, even at Catherine's house.
I love finding ways to transition my
summer pieces
into colder weather; it really expands the use of clothes already in your
closet.
This isn't a trend you can transition
into the fall but it's definitely one you want to store away in your
closet for next year because honestly straw bags just scream
SUMMER!

summer here in Texas, the first fall / winter pieces moved
into my
closet.
Maxi skirts aren't strictly for
summer or vacations anymore and by learning to transition them
into the cooler temps you'll be able to get more out of your
closet.
I'm sure I'll soon have to put my winter clothes
into my
closet, and hide my
summer ones in the higher parts of my
closet, where they'll have to wait for spring to come back.
We recently converted our tiny little coat
closet into a much more functional mudroom for our family and I have to say, it is quickly becoming my favorite little space to decorate (see it pared - down for
summer here...).

into my

So, let go of the beach days and bonfire nights of
summer and turn your
closet into a heaven for vintage - inspired pieces, powerful reds and retro plaids.
If you already have some ruffled pieces in your
closet from
summer, simply layer those pieces with a cardigan or scarf to transition
into cooler weather.

Although I always say that I tend to veer towards color, particularly during the warm
summer months we're having in Australia, I'm finding more and more neutrals making their way

closet.

The official start of
summer is only 13 days away and that means lots of fun dresses, skirts and sunnies are about to make their way
into the
closets of the fashion obsessed everywhere (if they haven't already).
While it's no longer available I still felt it warranted a spotlight being that it's such a special piece and I've cherished it ever since it made it's way

closet last

/ long cardigan sweater (great
closet staple for when we move from
summer into fall) / pink off the shoulder dress (so cute for brunch or date night!)
Even though the weather is still screaming
summer time, I'm getting
into fall mode and stocking up my
closet early with my favorite dresses to last me throughout the season.
This
summer I plan to put some shelving
into our basement storage
closets and get all the boxes in there unpacked and put away from the move last October!
As I move my
summer clothes to the
closet, I go through the spring clothes and divide them
into piles for the resale shop and the Women's shelter.
My
summer projects include cleaning out and organizing all
closets in my home and making one
closet into an office.
