With
gardens and markets overflowing with ripe fruits and
veggies,
summer is the easiest season to eat healthfully.
I'm hoping that my food issues get sorted out before the
summer is over so I can take advantage of the fresh
veggies from the market and in my
garden.

My husband and I have started our first year
garden of
summer vegetables after a not so bad first year of a fall / winter
veggies garden.

In the spirit of the season, adding
garden - fresh
summer veggies was the perfect topping for my healthy homemade pizza!
Part of it is because we've been busy, and part of it is because I have so many
garden veggies that I'm just making the same
summer veggie staples over and over and not venturing out to anything new.
My
summer has been all about simply prepared, flavorful sauces that come together easily, and fresh
veggies right from the
garden.
I am working on my
garden plan for the
summer, plotting out what
veggies go where and which varieties are making the cut.
I'll make a post on that sandwich in the
summer months when I can get great fresh / ripe
veggies for it (hopefully from my
garden).
It is perfect to use up some of the fresh
summer veggies from my
garden!

summer is eating all the juicy and delicious fruits and
veggies fresh from the
garden.
This autumn vegetable pasta came about thanks to an abundance of fresh herbs and
veggies on a cool, sunny October Saturday: cabbage, leeks, broccolini, red bell peppers (I know folks think of peppers as being a

I am so excited that
summer is here — I have been out in my
garden planting wonderful flowers and
veggies, and I have been working on beautifying my home's backyard patio!

gardening, we just planted our first seedlings in some raised
gardens beds we added after my last post, so hopefully we will have some

Chelsea insists that we grow some
veggies and when I remember our fresh peppers and tomatoes from the porch
garden last
summer I have to agree.

summer camp for a week, working at our churches VBS,
gardening, canning and freezing fruits and
veggies, and hanging out with my family.
