Breathtaking, expansive scenery is required of
any superhero space film and this one could've used some assistance in the CGI department.

space, and in half a dozen lands (New York, Wakanda, Titan, Knowhere), the
film presents a galactic battle for the fate of the universe that throws together the six original Avengers; the follow - up wave of Marvel
superheroes who've only recently been given their own origin stories (Black Panther, Dr. Strange, the rebooted Spider - Man); the Guardians of the Galaxy; and a sprinkling of other figures who've been there on the fringes.
Those
films suggested how frisky
space might be carved out within the crushing sameness of the
superhero formula and the larger universe - building of Marvel's mega-plotline.
With close to 80 characters (plus CG characters numbering in the tens, if not hundreds, of thousands), multiple diverging / converging storylines, and an 18 -
film franchise to service, Avengers: Infinity War has a tremendous amount of ground to cover, both literally and figuratively, from New York, Scotland, and Wakanda on Earth, to parts known and unknown in the deepest reaches of
space, not to mention putting our favorite and not - so - favorite
superheroes through one ringer after another.
Created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen (the same team mostly responsible for Dr. Horrible's Sing - Along Blog and Dollhouse), Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. serves as a concurrent link between the various Marvel
superhero projects, the Avengers
films and its own
space in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, rather than being a straight sequel to Whedon's 2012
film.
