Cat Initiative The NYC Feral
Cat Initiative (NYCFCI), a program of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals,
supports the efforts of organizations and individuals who work to help stray and feral
cats — collectively known as «
community cats» — and perform Trap - Neuter - Return (TNR) in New York City.
The RPAL Team is currently serving over 254 member organizations of the Rescue & Shelter
community in Texas and these Rescues & Shelters are collectively
supporting over 13,944 dogs and
cats every day while they await forever families.

A no - kill
community is one that acts on the belief that every healthy, adoptable dog and healthy
cat should be saved, and that its focus should be on saving as many lives as possible through pet adoption, spay / neuter, trap - neuter - return and other
community support programs rather than achieving a specific numerical outcome.
First, you'll want to assess and target a specific area or colony of
cats for TNR, and then speak with
community members to let them know your plans and gain their
support.
Not only do they help
community members get their pets fixed affordably, they also
support shelters with vouchers to get those
cats / dogs fixed prior to adoption.
Findings: When people learn how positive TNR is for
cats and
communities, the programs receive widespread
support.
