Although many of these strategies are
effective in building relationships, research has shown that certain
family engagement activities are most
effective in
supporting a student's academic growth and achievement.
Partner schools will receive intensive
support in the form of training, resources, and coaching to improve
family engagement as well as up to $ 30,000 to fund the implementation of
effective family engagement practices.
With a focus on increasing achievement for city students, the Abell Foundation
supports efforts to provide quality instruction in all content areas, provide a broad portfolio of
effective schools, create successful transitions to and through college and work, increase
family engagement, and promote literacy enrichment.
