It's not like supporting a sports team where there can only be one winner, with consoles (and PC) you should support ALL formats, that way you can play all the best games wherever they might fall and also
support gaming in general, which in some cases is still not seen as a «cool» hobby.

When it dawns on people that ms is using x box to promote Windows, and isn't doing much to advance
gaming in general, then they'll have troubles unless they have amazing
support to make people not care.
I'm still skeptical about the mainstream and home console uptake of VR and 3D
gaming in general, but then again I haven't tried the Oculus Rift, which has been garnering
support left right and centre since its unveiling at E3
in June 2012.
