Most parents with children in
public schools do not
support recent
changes in education
policy, from closing low - performing schools to shifting
public dollars to charter schools to private school vouchers, according to a new poll to be released Monday by the American Federation of Teachers.

Public Schools was making less progress than neighboring districts on closing equity gaps — ultimately created a sense of urgency that
supported efforts by district leaders to

support the continued growth of afterschool.

That's why I'm with the other contributors above who seem to share my astonishment at Roger Pielke Jr.'s apparently extreme belief «that the

supported by theory or evidence,» and that he'd «go so far as to say that it is a complete myth.»
A new
policy framework is needed — one that articulates overarching purpose and strategy; buttresses the
supporting public - private partnerships; expands the collaborations to bring in social scientists, service providers, and end users, both domestically and internationally; commits the resources necessary for the long haul; and builds in the flexibility and responsiveness needed to keep pace with social
change and evolving needs.
Happily, in America this question has already been asked and answered by a number of major religious organizations and evangelical groups that are on record as both accepting the science of climate
change and
supporting action at the
public -
policy level.
