support of a spouse or a trust fund (two things I tend to longingly confuse), nowadays, most
of us need some sort
of gainful day job.
My opinion, one's
books should
support the development
of the
writer's platform.
It also wouldn't hurt if they gave their
writers more
support, as many who turn to self - publishing are doing so because their publishers are either unwilling to publish certain projects because
of market concerns, or they simply won't do anything more than listing a
book in a catalog or putting up a few signs.
Without the editing, design, and sales
support offered by traditional houses, the cost
of book production and advertising falls solely upon the
writer.
Instead
of spending time hunting down beta readers, I've already got a tribe
of writers to
support me and help my
book become excellent.
