sure nothing has been left behind • Check for residential damage as soon as possible — residential damage claim form must be completed and given to movers on moving day; check
furniture and boxed goods for damage and note together on separate damage claim • Unpack box of essentials and get comfortable • Don't try to do everything all at once — take breaks, have a snack or quick meal and try to relax!
When choosing from salvaged
furniture, how can you be
sure not to buy a
door / window with lead paint?
I'm the one who has to leave notes on
door telling my hubby or kids to make
sure they turn on the lights because the
furniture is re-arranged.
The shelves will affect traffic patterns and how you can manuever large items through the
doors (so if you're going the built - in route, make
sure it's not around a
door you may need to move large appliances or
furniture through; freestanding shelves can be moved for these instances).
Six weeks before: Order your moving supplies (boxes, bubble wrap, etc.) and take measurements of your new home (if possible) to make
sure larger pieces of
furniture will fit through the
door.
