waves with an intimate beach where you won't find more than 25
surfers on any given day.
But when you realize you're «out the back» catching
green waves after only a few days of

You're now learning how to
surf small
green waves to both right and left.

green waves», make a few turns, and know the basic rules of
surfing.
For your
surfing, you must be able to paddle out back and duck dive when needed, pop - up consistently on
green waves and perform basic maneuvers, turning both left and right.
You will be coached on more advanced techniques like turning on
green waves as well as pushing yourself to bigger and faster
waves across a variety of
surf breaks, all of which will result in more confidence, paddle power and, of course, fun!
Our 4 and 8 week
surf academy experiences in Australia will take you to a solid intermediate
surf level, capable of tackling
green waves, head high
surf and being confident when paddling out back with the board short wearing locals!
All the
surf instructor courses we offer are in a zero to hero format — so even if you have little or no
surf experience they're designed to teach you everything from the basics of popping and paddling through to riding
green waves and being able to coach yourself.
Our instructed session will focus on novice
surfers riding
waves by the end of our lesson, whereas more experienced students will improve their previous
surfing abilities riding long,
green waves.
Beginners We will teach you how to
surf, catch your own
waves, ride the
green water and pop up the right way.

Advanced group
surfed the amazing Uluwatu for the first session where the
waves were head high and went to
Green Bowl for the second session.
Every day your instructor will take you to the
surf spot that is best suited to catch as many
green waves as possible.
The goal is to be able to
surf both right and left, while you on level 3 concentrate more on different manoeuvres on
green waves.

surf lessons are also included, with Bodhi Tree's expert
surf instructors, you'll be in the
green waves in no time.
We have taught many beginner students to paddle outside the break and catch their own
green water
waves during their first week of
surfing.
Green Iguana is highly experienced in teaching beginners everything they need to know about
surfing, including the basics of reading the ocean and
surf, how to paddle your surfboard properly, and of course, how to stand up and ride
waves!
Our
surf instructors also get you into that true
surfer slang, explaining «swells», «barrels», «tubes», «
green waves» and everything else you need to know about lingo, etiquette and the real
surf lifestyle.
Everything from fantastic
surfing (we all caught a lot of
waves), CRAZY HIGH & FAST zip - lining, ATV rides in the jungle (loved seeing the Howler monkeys) and deep - sea fishing (can't believe we caught a Sailfish) ~ to awesome restaurants (The
Green Papaya was AWESOME), shopping and spas (the 4 handed message was blissful).

The
surf spots in Alentejo offer both safe and challenging conditions, whether you want to learn to
surf and catch your first
wave, or paddle out and catch your first
green one.
You will learn some or all of the following during your
surf holiday: — beach safety and about
surf equipment — positioning yourself correctly both on the surfboard and in the ocean — how to paddle, pop up and ride your first
wave in the broken white water
waves — how to get «out back» to the
green unbroken
waves and ride them in to the beach!
These tips deal with that magic part of
surfing when you start finding your feet with some regularity, concentrating more on «
green waves» than the whitewater.
Although typically known as the «
green season» due to the rain, the months of May through December usually produce the largest
waves for
surfing.
The Inside or Impact Zone — This section of the
surf zone is where all
waves turn from
green unbroken
waves into white water
waves and is a place
surfers do not want to spend much time.
This level is designed for those that have passed our level 2 / can catch waist high
green waves on your own and
surf frontside and backside.
This includes everything from
surf saftey and ocean awareness to paddling technique and how to stand up and
surf the
waves, directional changes, paddling to the backline, catching
green waves and
surf ettiquette.
Once you have mastered
surfing in the white water, it is time to take you to the next level in which you will paddle and ride the
green waves.
This level is designed for those of you that have passed our level 2 and or can catch waist high
green waves on your own and
surf frontside and backside.
Typically one hour after high tide & two hours before low tide will provide good long lines of white water
waves for new
surfers and gentle rolling
green waves for developing
surfers.
Our intermediate
surf package is ideal for
surfers who are looking to improve and progress their skills out in the
green waves.
With our intermediate package we'll take you into the the
green waves and teach you how to navigate the
surfing «line - up».
