Gentle pressure by a finger against each tooth can reveal any looseness or even complete detachment of the tooth from the jaw and may also disclose bleeding and / or oozing of pus from
surrounding gingival tissue.
General anesthesia allows for a complete oral examination and assessment of all teeth surfaces and
surrounding gingival tissue.

This disease can progress to deep pockets in the
gingival sulcus of the teeth, leading to loss of the
surrounding bone, and, ultimately, loss of teeth caused by the infection.
