the Sustained National Climate Assessment — which includes academics as well as local officials and corporate representatives — expires Sunday.
Today the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration opened a new chapter of the National Climate Assessment by announcing the appointment of new members to the Advisory Committee for
the Sustained National Climate Assessment.

The objective of
the sustained National Climate Assessment is to make scientific information more helpful to stakeholders.
A banner notice on the top of the committee's website says: Per the terms of the charter, the Federal Advisory Committee for
the Sustained National Climate Assessment (Committee) expired on August 20, 2017.
This scientific assessment is part of the ongoing efforts of USGCRP's
sustained National Climate Assessment process and was called for under the President's Climate Action Plan.
