Examining my wardrobe for fall and winter, I noticed that I have way more
sweaters than jackets and coats.
Not exact matches
Rather
than buying it new, I purchase old, 100 % wool
sweaters or
jackets from thrift shops.
In the world of $ 900 winter
jackets, luxe cashmere
sweaters, and all the crazy expensive things you «need» to stay warm this season, when you start to add them up you realize that by the time you get everything you won't actually be able to pay your heating bill this month (which is probably a little more important
than designer slippers, right?)
However, if you are bigger
than me (at size 16), and are looking for a step - up from a
sweater but a step - down from a
jacket, I would highly recommend you get in touch with the ladies at The Peacock Room and grab one because they were on clearance!
This
sweater jacket from J.Crew is another piece that looks much better in person
than online.
I also thought layering on a cozy pullover
sweater, rather
than a jean
jacket or cardi, made the outfit come together really well for the colder weather.
From their winter
jackets (I literally have bought a new winter
jacket from Zara for the past 6 years straight — and they're all always totally different from each other but I love each more
than the next) to their jeans (obsessed) to their classic
sweaters to their going - out shirts and of course, you can't go wrong with their short skirts.
Sweaters and
jackets are nice and all, but there's nothing more satisfying
than wearing an easy swing dress in the middle of November.
Other
than that the series contain denim,
jackets, hoodies,
sweaters, mufflers, single - breasted suit with textured wool, and worsted wool are best available in the market.
Love it with a
sweater or tee hanging down lower
than the
jacket.

It's actually a bit longer
than it appears; I tucked the front of the
jacket into my belted jeans (much like you'd do with an oversized
sweater) to let my waistline make an appearance amidst all that fab fluffiness!!
I always like
sweater jackets because they're comfortable and let you move, bend, etc. — they feel freer
than blazers but still look professional.
I would say it fits true to size, and because it was a size smaller
than I normally wear in Zara
jackets, I usually refrain from wearing it with a thick
sweater underneath.
Too bulky (try carrying that heavy
sweater or
jacket around for hours on a walking tour once the day warms up), too fancy (the dresses, jewelry and heels for the «just in case» situations that never materialized) too Not Me (clothes that were more tailored / structured
than what I normally wear, and not comfortable either physically or emotionally).

I also wasn't sure if I should include my jean
jacket on this list... but since I typically wear it more as a «
sweater» or «cardigan»
than I do a winter
jacket, I'm including it.
For instance, TULLE is BIG (in more ways
than one, of course) and the ballerina skirt will be fabulous for winter with ankle boots, or an outrageous pair of shoes, flashy jewels and a crew neck
sweater, and then pretty in spring next year too, paired with sporty trimmings like a pair of sneaks, a logoed t - shirt and denim
jacket.
Many bikers prefer these
jackets as it shields them during cold breeze, better
than the coats and
sweaters.
I checked and saw that Indianapolis was going to be waaaay cooler
than it was here, so I was sure to pack
jackets and a
sweater for night time activities.
