frosting was only
on the sides because it would have been too
sweet and rich all over.
Well, it's a
frosting - free cake that bakes up with a soft, smooshy layer of cake
on top that is kind of like custard only denser and
sweeter.
The
frosting was still, I think, a bit
on the too
sweet side but not horribly so.
Heck, even if I didn't feel like skiing
on frigid cold days or icy conditions I would suffer through the poor conditions and possible
frost bite just so I could enjoy the caramelized, buttery,
sweet goodness.

frosting recipe's creator was terribly sad, but with time the creator forgot all about it and moved
on to other
sweet things.
Ever since I made my cashew coconut cream cheese
frosting, I've been totally hooked
on soaking cashews and blending them up into all sorts of creamy
sweet experiments.
While the rolls are still warm, a thick, tangy, and
sweet frosting is spread
on the top and allowed to seep inside each layer and crevice.
Crispy
on the edges, chewy in the center coconut sugar cookies topped with a
sweet, naturally dyed, coconut butter
frosting.

Traditional
frosting with cups of white sugar in it are way too
sweet and overpower the taste the of the cake (or whatever else you're serving it
on / with).
When exposed to
frost, kale can sometimes take
on a
sweeter taste (that is due to the conversion of some kale starches into sugars).
I left out the raisins and found it not quite
sweet enough for my taste unless the
frosting was
on it.
The cupcakes themselves are not overly
sweet since the only sugar in them is fruit sugar, that's why I love a not - small serving of coconut whipped cream
frosting on top.
The lemon zest complements the cream cheese so perfectly that I sometimes even snack
on this
frosting — I just can't get enough of the

The cupcakes
on their own aren't super
sweet, which is why I added a bundle of vegan buttercream
frosting on top of them, which really just takes them over the top, if you ask me.
