I must say I've tried
the sweet potato toast in the toaster a few times and was quite disappointed.
Not exact matches
When I'd visit from Chicago, he'd bring me into his Nashville kitchen and make me impromptu salads, perfectly fried eggs with the brightest yellow yolks, mashed avocado on
toast,
sweet potatoes roasted
in coconut oil, thick morning smoothies made
in a blender he'd packed to the brim.
I was using it on everything — smoothie bowls, breakfast
sweet potato parfaits,
sweet omelettes,
in my protein ice cream, on
toast... basically anything that needed some extra crunch got some chocolate granola.
First, I replaced bread
in your classic tuna melt recipe with
sweet potato toast, and today I am giving you a healthy, paleo bread alternative that's super easy to make and totally flourless!
If using a toaster, place the

OK, here are some favorites we've been cooking up at my place: - vegetable curry (grind my own whole spices, use whatever veggies we get
in our weekly CSA share; radishes / beets, eggplant, squash, greens, etc)- quick kale (sauteed with coconut oil, chili flakes, garlic, [lemon grass], soy sauce, lemon juice)- pac choi w / sauteed mushrooms «chinese» style (with fish sauce, rice wine vinegar, jalepeno / chili, soy sauce, etc)- roasted radishes w / poached eggs - «teamwork pasta» — this is your recipe for pepper and cheese pasta, but it helps having two sets of hands to make it
in our house... we put an egg on this too of course - tuna pasta (chopped onion, garlic, lemon zest, chili flakes, tuna, olives — easily adaptable to what you already have
in the house and like)- roast chicken on friday - roasted
sweet potatoes - omlets - challa french

After my first batch of
sweet potato toast, I decided to try this version
in an actual toaster instead of the oven.
I have the same adventurous attitude toward salad ingredients, and made one with seasonal spinach,
sweet potatoes, avocado,
toasted pecan, and gorgonzola
in a citrus - yogurt dressing earlier this week.

sweet potato toast took the blog world by storm this year, I wasn't too interested
in trying it until I saw this month's Recipe Redux theme.
While I'm waiting for that patience to rise
in me, I'll be sure to have these
toasts until I get bored, and then come up with a new
sweet potato craze.

There's all kinds of
toast out there these days — avocado
toast,
sweet potato toast... I figured I'd go with it and make something with things I already had lying around
in my apartment.
Despite being cooked
in the toaster, the
sweet potatoes maintain their soft and moist texture, and they can be
toasted with their skin on or off depending upon your preference.
Ingredients: Unsalted butter, yellow onion, fresh oregano, garlic, all - purpose flour, chicken broth,
sweet potatoes, chipotle pepper
in adobo, adobo sauce, orange zest, kosher salt, cinnamon, creme fraiche or sour cream,
toasted pumpkin seeds
So I make a point to get some fiber, complex or simple carbs, healthy fat and protein — which you can do
in a shake or smoothie, with eggs and greens and a side of
toast or
sweet potatoes, by whipping up some protein pancakes, or with today's new recipe that I've been working on perfecting:
You can also add a spoonful to a smoothie or use
in place of butter on
toast,
sweet potatoes or even pancakes.
Every once
in awhile I'll crave something savory, like a
sweet potato hash with lots of veggies or a slice of avocado
toast.
For the sauce: The deep nutty flavor of tahini complements the flavors

Before you accuse me of having SWYPO, keep
in mind that these are not baked recreations of junk food, just like
sweet potato toast is a-OK on a Whole30.
