sweet and juicy
Roasted Strawberries.
As
strawberries aren't that tart and this is usually quite a
sweet ice - cream, I added a little cider vinegar to the
roasting strawberries and reduced the amount of condensed milk used.
To intensify the flavor of
strawberries — and create a
sweet, fruity syrup for fluffy buttermilk pancakes —
roast them in the oven with vanilla and sugar.
And because these are bursting with nutty flavor from the whole wheat, the fruitiness of all those
roasted strawberries, and that
sweet touch of maple, they certainly don't leave your taste buds lacking.
In fact, you could probably get away with using
strawberries that aren't the
sweetest, because these are lightly sweetened with some maple syrup and
roasted!
The texture is spot - on, the flavor is
sweet in that light way that quick breads should be, there's this amazing blend of vanilla beans and vanilla sugar and vanilla extract that works wonders, and there's juicy
roasted strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries in every bite because they're amazing.
If you want your
strawberries to be a bit
sweeter, add 1 tablespoon of maple syrup prior to
roasting.
