The interesting
thing is, all I had on hand was some leftover instant yeast, so I used that and the waffles were insanely good — far better than the WIG ones (which had a nice texture but were far
too sweet for our tastebuds.
Strange because I usually cut sugar in half in most recipes and don't like
things too sweet.
Plus, I seriously can't get enough of butternut squash and
sweet potatoes... I've been eating carrots like crazy
too, so I'm pretty excited that this recipe combines all of my favorite

I don't love
things that are
too sweet, but I just felt like it was a little on the very tart side and needed something to cut it; however, it could have been the apples, so next time I make it, I will taste the filling once cooked and add additional sugar as needed to ensure the ratio is accurate.
It's also not
too sweet — as much as we both have a
sweet tooth, neither of us can really face a big sugar hit first

I am such a sucker for the

I used to make homemade sorbet just using the crushed berries (don't like
things too sweet) and would have to eat it up within a few hours of churning.
Bacon — yes, American - style bacon in Rome; not exactly the pork product I associate with the city, but who am I to question these
things — was grilled to a perfect, lightly charred crisp then topped with peppery wild arugula and drizzled so - very - lightly with an aged balsamic vinegar, the kind that is thick, dark and almost syrupy, as
sweet as it is punchy, the kind that probably costs
too much but that I still encourage everyone to buy, just once, because used judiciously (which is to say, not in a steak marinade, please, use the cheap stuff for that) it will last forever.
I like my baked cranberry goods to carry a good bit of punch...
Too sweet just isn't my
thing.
It's light, not
too dense, nor
too sweet (I say that because I like less sugar in every
sweet thing I eat, and I usually put less sugar in my cakes
too — but I knew that the sugar in this recipe would help get the cake all fluffy and so I went ahead), it's moist of course, and simply delightful.
I love that the recipe isn't
too sweet (one of my least favorite
things about most cookie recipes is
too much sugar) and the coconuty, salty,
sweet, nutty flavor is waaay
too addicting (I'm on my 3rd cookie already).

sweet paprike around, so I wonder if that would be good in this or if it's one of those
things where the smokey flavor is just

If it's
too hot, or you've got other
things to do, it's easy to cook
sweet potatoes in the slow cooker....
Anyway, it was probably one of the only vegetarian
things on the menu, so I gave it a try, and it was
too sweet, kind of soggy, a bit bland.

I used a scant sugar measurement because I'm always afraid of

things you can eat... I didn't have chia / hemp seeds so replaced with cashews nuts & sesame seeds I also don't like
things too sweet so replaced sugar with dark chocolate... thought this
too would help bind them together — less
sweet perhaps or do I just love chocolate obviously taste is important.
As a vegan, being healthy is a priority
too and I know there is evidence that proves
too much of a
sweet thing is not so
sweet for our health.
