tablet shipments in Q3 2016.
Neil Mawston, Director at Strategy Analytics, added, «Android captured 27 percent share of global
tablet shipments in Q3 2011, rising twelve-fold from 2 percent a year earlier.
Research firm IHS iSuppli says Apple's (s aapl) iPad makes up 70 percent of tablet shipments worldwide — with Kindle Fire accounting for just 4.2 percent of global
tablet shipments in Q2 2012.
As previously mentioned, share outside the top 5 continued to outgrow the market, representing 46 % of total
tablet shipments in 2Q15.
The report claims that consumers» interest in slates continues to grow, with the reported 49.1 million total
tablet shipments in Q1 of 2013 surpassing the total number of shipments made in the entire first half of last year.
According to IDC, the United States, Western Europe and Asia / Pacific (excluding Japan) regions accounted for 89 % of all media
tablet shipments in 4Q10.
But then I saw the IDC figures for
tablet shipments in quarter four, 2012 and, even if we take those figures as close to accurate, the news is really quite bad news for B&N:
On the revenues front, overall, ABI estimates that
tablet shipments in Q2 generated revenues of $ 12.7 billion — with the iPad accounting for (only) 50 percent of worldwide end - user revenues.

The
tablet market shrank
