Whether you like shopping, skateboarding, playing mini-games,
tackling side missions, or just idle chat with NPCs, the game can indulge your yearning for overworld autonomy.

They provide the player with different ways in which to
tackle a
mission, or a multiple number of
side missions and quests to solve, while pursuing the main goal or quest of the game.
You will need to find word walls in the game to unlock the full power of these shouts, and you will stumble across most of these as you
tackle the game's main quest and the
side missions.
However, I will always complete the primary story / campaign, sink many hours into any multiplayer and attempt to
tackle what I view to be a fair amount of
side - quests /
missions etc..

Of the few
side missions I've sampled so far, I can't say I'm enthused to
tackle any more of them.
At its core, this does still seem to play like Far Cry 3, with takedowns, camps to take over, and
side missions to
tackle.
We
tackle a variety of
side quests and the first
mission in the story chapter that will eventually lead us to confronting The Scarab.
Functionally, players serve as Amatsune's errand boy,
tackling both stages that move the plot along and
side mission that can be repeated to level up characters and equipment.
I can't wait to return to this fully realized next - gen Gotham City throughout 2016 to complete all of the many
side missions I've still yet to
tackle.
Naturally, completing
side missions serves to lengthen the overall time spent in finishing the game (an average playthrough should clock in at the 12 - 15 hour mark), but also provides for extra resources to help
tackle enemies more efficiently.
You (probably) won't be strong enough to
tackle the foe directly, so you'll complete the varied, interesting
side missions in the area, filling in your map and collecting doodads as you go.
There's plenty more, such as
side missions to
tackle, wealth and property to acquire, and hidden collectibles to discover and trade using the Vita's «Near» feature, but I'll leave you to discover those for yourself.
You can teleport to the hollow world and
tackle those quests, you can take on and clear floors in the main dungeon, you can take special
side mission requests (in both the dungeon AND the hollow world), you can help out other players who email you when they get into trouble, you can buy, sell and craft weapons, you can pick partners and even foster a little romance with them and, of course, you can do plenty of that sweet, sweet level grinding.
Previously, players could
tackle several simultaneous
side missions, potentially meeting multiple requirements in a single run - through.
Also, there are
side missions for you to
tackle, but these are the ones that end up feeling the most repetitive after all is said and done... but you sort of HAVE to do them.
Also, there were plenty of
side missions to
tackle for various rewards, and even though all of them involved finding or slaying something, it was nice to see more than the bare minimum.
The distance is somewhat necessary to allow you to
tackle the
mission from all
sides, but it does mess up the pacing.
Along with the main campaign
missions you're tasked with completing, there's plenty of
side missions and activities you can
tackle.
Although the main quest will take most of your time, you are allowed to branch off the main path and
tackle the game's
side missions which usually involve collecting a number of significant items for the quest giver.
As you progress, more of the world is opened up and you can wander back and forwards to different areas of the world, picking up any
side missions you may have overlooked, or
tackling the new challenges that emerge.
When you aren't taking part in the various story
missions, you'll have the option of
tackling side activities, which range from hunting to fishing; both of which are oddly satisfying.
Throughout the approximately 25 - hour adventure (which you could easily double if you chose to
tackle the game's numerous
side missions), you'll traverse everything from lush green meadows to barren wastelands to snow - capped mountains, with dynamic weather effects and a full day / night cycle, and each location is more beautiful than the last.
Besides the literal hundreds of
side missions you can
tackle, you can also play baseball, mahjong, darts, lots of Sega arcades (classic titles like Fantasy Zone and newer titles like Virtua Fighter 5 with multiplayer support), engage in awkward dating minigames with cabaret hostesses, and of course, the iconic karaoke minigame.
