Interestingly enough, its functions more than just an unlocking mechanism for the phone, as it also doubles as

We found ourselves using the physical
buttons more because they provided satisfying
tactile feedback, but tapping the display was just
as comfortable and easy.
Sure, touchscreens are helpful for some things, but
as often
as not they're horribly imprecise (and I click the wrong link on a web page or miss a tiny
button), your fingers obscure some important screen element, or I miss the
tactile feedback of a good old - fashioned control pad on games.

It's fine when held in landscape mode — the rear edges can be used
as a
tactile guide — but it's annoying when I want to quickly wake the tablet from sleep, but have to pick it up first to reach the back instead of just tapping a
button on its side.
On the iPhone this can lead to a disadvantage
as you're missing the
tactile feedback of a d - pad, analogue stick or
buttons, and most platformers try to replicate these control schemes with the touch screen.
If you're looking for a phone that can stand up more drops, dings, and dirt than the average smartphone, and you like the idea of
tactile buttons, there's no reason not to snatch the Galaxy S5 Active up (provided you're on AT&T),
as it's priced the same $ 200 on contract
as the standard Galaxy S5, which has nearly identical internals.
The pad would offer haptic signals
as feedback to the user to mimic the
tactile feel of depressing a
button on a keyboard.

The power and volume
buttons are located on the right, and they're not
as tactile as the ones you'd find on the Redmi Note 4 or the Moto G5.
The power
button and volume keys are quite easy to press
as they offer
tactile feel.
The only real physical annoyance about the X Play is its loose volume rocker, which rattles when I move the phone around and feels nowhere near
as nice and
tactile as the ridged power
button.

The display looks
as good
as any other smartwatch and the

tactile and programmable which is nice, but the real area this watch stands out is with its accurate fitness features.

as it is, changing volume up or down in the dark or while pocketed is a bit of a hit»n' miss affair.
The Honor 8 does something a bit unique, however,

as Honor is calling it, a «smart key.»
On the plus side, a pair of physical left / right
buttons are included, and each offers significant travel
as well
as good
tactile feel.
Taking a look around the device, on the right side is the power
button and the volume rocker, and while the
buttons are very easy to press, the
tactile feedback isn't
as solid
as would be expected.
These
buttons are a little too recessed though and are difficult to press with gloves,
as there's little
tactile feedback.
The
buttons also have a nice
tactile feel to them and are a tiny bit loose, which might bother some, but it wasn't an issue for me
as it didn't affect the functions of the
buttons at all nor did it make them too easy to press or anything like that.
More often than not the changes are more subtle and marginal, such
as improving the
tactile nature of a
button or giving the user feedback when they have completed an interaction.
