Wet
tail diarrhoea is so bad that the hamster is not only wet and dirty around the anus but at the top of the tail as well.
However, because of severe wet
tail diarrhoea, rectal prolapse (where the intestine is pushed outside of the body through the anus) can occur.
Wet
tail diarrhoea is often accompanied by strong unpleasant smells and droppings are pale in colour and are extremely soft and may contain mucus.
