Regulations in the U.S. and Europe that set maximum levels of aflatoxin in food keep
tainted products out of the food system, even though farmers might end up throwing out portions of their harvest as a result.
The food maker had so far recovered some 1.2 million packages of potentially
tainted products out of 6.4 million it wants to recall, he added.
