I think I'll at least wait a couple more days, but I did
take holiday decor inventory over the weekend to see what we needed for this year.

I love a good party, and normally, I obsess over
holiday decor, from invitations to table setting to party favors, but with a baby on board, party - planning has most definitely
taken a back seat.
That makes it easy to find when I
take all my
holiday decor down in January.
To get started,
take a look at your house — from your wardrobe to your basement, and ask yourself, «Do I really need all this junk???» And by junk, I am even including all of the extra vintage decorative items and
holiday decor that really aren't life necessities.
If you are a bit sad that you've put away all your
holiday decorations (sniff, sniff), why not
take the opportunity to craft some new
decor with pom pom flowers?
I don't mind changing out the
holiday decor items, but I don't have a lot of time to spend
taking things up and down.
It's two-fold for me, on one hand I am always happy to
take all of the
holiday decor down and have a clean slate - but on the other hand, I do really love the festive way the house feels with all the lights and special decorations up.

My mom used to do it years ago and its
taken me several years to have little things for each
holiday coming up... I move to the seasonal
decor in May.
It never fails, my friends... every effing year Christmas decorating season rolls around and I tell myself I am going to «
take it easy» on the
holiday decor (if not for the sake of my sanity but for the sake of my wallet) by only decorating one room... my living room.
So in my annual fit of post-
holiday pickup, I like to
take down the
holiday decor and leave a surface bare for a little while.
When it comes time to get down that
holiday's
decor, I
take down one basket and discard the trash bag.
Hmmm, it
takes an «event» like that for me to get a jump on
holiday decor - lol.
(And no, my Xmas
decor is not up still, these were
taken before the
holidays were over!)
