microbial ecosystem consisting of a wide variety of both archaebacteria and eubacteria, common «modern» bacteria that normally
take up residence in lush places such as cheese and humans.
However,
microbial concentrations fluctuate rapidly, and it
takes a day or more to cultivate and count bacteria from a given
sample.
The new method
takes the unknown
sample and compares it against this
microbial reference library.
