I
took a butternut, yam, carrot, ginger and coconut milk soup that was good
on its own, but spectacular with thinly sliced kale, served over
brown rice, with sauteed crimini mushrooms, bell peppers and onions — very tasty and filling.
I
took the chicken out to cut up and thickend the sauce
on the
browning setting, added the chicken to get everything hot again and served over
rice.

We
took our favorite winter veggies (click
on the links to learn about their health benefits), beets, butternut squash, Brussels sprouts, and kale, and mixed them up with chewy
brown rice and a delicious and bright maple mustard dressing.
If you can cook the
rice in advance, that will save you a lot of cooking time, since
rice can
take up to 45 minutes to cook (depending
on the type you use —
brown rice takes me 45 minutes to cook).
Coconut
brown rice porridge with apple sage granola is my
take on a breakfast porridge I had at Sqirl LA, a hyped (for good reason) café in Los Angeles's Silver Lake neighborhood.
Transfer to the lined baking dish and press down with your hands or a sturdy spatula to smooth the top (this may
take some force, depending
on how much the
brown rice syrup mixture has cooled down).

I've been doing a lot of research lately
on the arsenic levels in
brown rice products, and am curious to hear your
take on the issue.
2) Vitamin B complex — 2 tablets,
taken one tablet, two - times daily Thiamine (B - 1) found in
brown rice, low - fat milk, wheat germ and yeast, Riboflavin (B - 2) found in egg yolks, green vegetables, low - fat milk and yeast, Niacin (B - 3) found in wheat germ and yeast, Pantothenic Acid (B - 5) found in broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, egg yolks and whole grains, Pyridoxine (B - 6) found in green vegetables, whole grain cereals and yeast, Biotin (B - 8) found in egg yolks, whole grain cereals and yeast, Folic Acid (B - 9) found in beets, endive, green cabbage and whole green peas [Note: Do NOT forget Cobalamin (B - 12), found in liver, kidney, meats, fish, dairy products, blue green algae, and eggs, most of which are not allowed
on this diet.]
When very lightly
browned which
takes less than a minute, remove the crisped
rice from the hot oil with a stainless steel slotted spoon and place
on a large plate covered with a clean tea towel to soak up excess oil.
I can not guarantee the result using other flours (oat, coconut,
brown rice, etc.) so that's a risk you'll have to
take on your own (haha)!
If I
take brown rice flour, a bit of wheat flour and water and leave that mixture
on my kitchen table, it will pick up wild yeasts and begin to ferment.
I always eat sweet pumpkin, chickpeas, sweet potato, corn,
brown rice, oatmeal, quinoa and so
on for
taking carb.
But I still felt fatigued... and that was because I needed the vitamins and the much more complex carbs (quinoa,
brown rice, sweet potatoes)
taken with a protien and healthy fats 3x a day at least... I have actually started to eat poultry because this place where I have been has not been fun and I hope to never go back but I think I am
on my way out at last
I recommend squeezing the butter
on a
brown rice cake or an apple (no need to slice, just
take a bite of the apple, squeeze some almond butter
on the «hole,» repeat), although it's totally cool to eat the stuff straight from the pack.
But if you are worried about getting short - changed
on your portion sizes, just
take a look at the portion sizes below in a single dinner that we developed for one of our Smart Menu eating plans: an appetizer with several tablespoons of hummus
on fresh vegetable slices and a bowl of miso soup; five ounces of salmon with a maple Dijon mustard glaze; two and one half cups of cooked vegetables topped with one and one half tablespoons of sesame seeds and a Mediterranean dressing; and one half cup of cooked
brown rice.
I grew up
on white
rice, so transitioning to
brown rice took a little bit of getting used to, but throwing your favorite things in it definitely makes a huge difference!
I
took her off her usual feed: Eagle brand dry with 1/4 cup of doggie stew (cooked veggies, Lipiderm, garlic, brewers yeast,
brown rice, tofu) and put her
on white
rice, ground turkey and flax seed.
I have a 10 yr old GSD and I did extensive research
on raw food diets and home cooked diets to ensure I was giving her a complete and balanced meal (balance over time) and my method is making her a bone broth (she doesn't get the cooked bones) with fresh herbs and veg that
take my fancy at time of shop and I do add some
brown rice as she's a large dog and I want to ensure she gets enough solid food which is cooked in a slow cooker.
